Smoother Theft Discovery Cinch Point now uses AI. However, if someone snatches it out of your hands and takes it down the street, your phone won’t automatically lock your device if it senses that your device has been stolen.
There are new authentication requirements for some settings that thieves target, like removing your SIM or turning off Find My Device. Android 15 will lock your device if there are multiple failed attempts to access apps and settings, making it harder for thieves to reset and sell stolen data.
Private Space is a new locked area on your phone where you can hide any sensitive apps, like banking apps or dating apps. However, if you give your phone to someone else, they won’t be able to see the app in your app list. , if an app is locked inside a Private Space.
On foldable and tablets running Android 15, you can pin and unpin your taskbar to the screen to customize your home screen layout and keep your favorite apps close to you.
You can also pair apps, so for example, you could choose Zoom and Gmail and open both apps in split screen first, making multitasking easier.
Additionally, app camera controls now work better in low light, third-party apps have more camera controls, messaging apps can use satellite connectivity to shoot text messages, and you can log in to apps that use passkeys.
